Rifle Scopes
In 1880, August Fiedler (Stronsdorf), forestry commissioner of Prince Reuss, managed to build the first telescopic sight that really did work.

Note: A rifle scope is a refractor telescope the first type of telescope built and involves glass optics - a lens gathers and focuses light. Also look under those two research areas (in optics under Optic Innovators).


但し、↑これはレンズ効果による倍率を持った物としての事でしょう。
レンズ無し無倍率で、単なるチューブ状の部品を銃身の上に平行に取り付ける物（原始的照準器）なら、
ヨーロッパーではヤーゲルライフル、米国ではケンタッキーライフルの時代に現われ
一部のハンターで使用されていると思われますし、無倍率ながら本格的な物としては、
１８６０年前後に製作された”Sharpshooter's Rifle”が有名なところでしょう。
